Lack of a good dermatologist in Malmö.

You can say whatever you want about American healthcare system, but America does have good specialists in the medical field. As far as I can remember I’ve had some itching, red spots on my trunk which gave me a lot of discomfort and irritation. It was obviously, I need a dermatologist. To get an appointment at dermatologist in Sweden can be a big project, you need to go to a local nurse, who has to refer you to a district house doctor who has, in his turn, refer you to a dermatologist. It is not bad enough to go through  this expensive, time consuming and tedious procedure, you have to also be able to persuade the involved medical personal to pass your errand on to the next link in this bureaucratic carrousel.

I went through this absurd process numerous times during my decades in Sweden. The itching was in and out and it was not pretty.

For some mysterious reasons I had always ended up with the same dermatologist from Slottsstadens Läkarhus in Malmö, who sent me home without any answers regarding my skin problems. He could not even see the Rosacea, the most common skin disease when it comes to face. Ones I even took close up pictures and showed him, he could not see anything!!!!

I tried to change him, but every time when I got a new referral from my local house doctor I ended up with him again. It looked like there were no other dermatologists in Malmö.

I think in this situation, as a professional, he at least should try  to do a biopsy, or send me to another dermatologist for the second opinion or take samples and send them to lab and so on. He did nothing is this matter.

Finally, here in Florida, I found a good dermatologist; the biopsy was taken, the analysis was done and the disease was identified.

I feel so furious about all the idle visits to this unskilled dermatologist  from Slottsstadens Läkarhus in Malmö, lost of the valuable time when my skin problem could be treated, and the most of all, he did not pay attention what I was saying and I got an impression he did not trust me, as I was inventing my problems.
